TENKARA FLY FISHING
Maine's Only Therapeutic Fly-Fishing with EMDR Therapist
ABOUT
Primarily used for mountain stream trout fishing, tenkara is one of the most popular methods of angling among fresh-water mountain anglers in Japan. Unlike western fly-fishing, tenkara uses no reel and its light weight, elegantly simplistic design allows users to take a more minimalistic approach to fishing, spending less time setting up equipment and more time in the water.
At Maine Tenkara Guides we cater to all skill levels, including beginners to deliver an intuitive and fun way to learn the art of fly-fishing, without the complexities of extra equipment. A rod, a line, a fly: tenkara is fishing in a basic form, not a better way just a different way.
